Pimp mei Heimat – HEIMAT ENDLICH keine kranke Kuh mehr!
Eine besondere Integrationsmaßnahme

Maurmair, das enfant terrible der jungen Tiroler Künstler-
generation, der an der Kunstuni in Wien erfolgreich Wildnis-
seminare anbietet, traut sich seine Heimat, sein Landl Tirol, auf den Kopf zu stellen. Mehr noch, er wagt Heimat aufzu-
motzen! Mit Pimp mei Heimat liefert er eine höchst kunstvolle wie witzige Wiedererzählung von Heimat, die uns stereotype Bilder wie das Goldene Dachl, die Europabrücke oder den (Ekel auslösenden) turbokapitalen Verkauf von Speck zu einer ungeahnten Freundlichkeit werden lassen. Heimat! Geliebt! Gehasst! In Wahlkämpfen verbissen verteidigt, war Heimat bisher ein Kampfbegriff, den entspannte kunstsinnige Geister lieber mieden, wollten sie nicht des Un-Patriotismus geziehen und des Landes verwiesen werden. Zu oft fühlen sich die Einwohner, jene Eingeborenen, die Heimat ausschließlich für sich reklamieren, in ihrem Hausfrieden gestört und beißen dann zu. Die Lust auf Heimat ist so manchem also längst vergangen und der Blick auf das was Heimat ist ebenso. Umso erfrischender wirken nun die Wiederbelebungskünste von Maurmair. Längst krank geschriebene Klischees auch Wahrzeichen Tirols genannt, werden vom Künstler aus dem Rhythmus hyperschnellen Ausverkaufs und Konsums genommen, spielerisch verfremdet und den Einwohnern in einer fast schon reinen Weise zurück gegeben. Mit Pimp mei Heimat setzt Maurmair seine cross-culture-Kunst konsequent fort. Er schöpft aus seinen unmittelbaren Lebenswelten, seinen vielen Heimaten, nutzt eine Anzahl von traditionellen Kunstfertigkeiten und modernen Techniken, um das Vorgefundene zu verfremden. Anschließend bietet er es den Interessierten zum Genuss an.

A rather special mode of integration

Maurmair offers very successfully seminars on wilderness at the University of Arts in Vienna. He, the enfant terrible of the young Tyrolean generation of artists dares to turn his home country, his Tyrol, upside down. Even more, he dares to pimp his home country. Pimp mei Heimat offers a most artistic and witty freshed up story of home country with stereotype pictures of the Goldene Dachl, the Europabrücke or the tremendous selling of ham (provoking disgust) turning into unexpected friendliness. Home country! Loved dearly! Deeply hated! Up to now the conception of home country,grimmly defended during election campaigns, has rather been a conception of combat with relaxed artistic minds rather avoiding it, thus escaping the accusation of non-patriotism and the expulsion from their home country. Only too often the inhabitants, those indigineous, who claim the home country exclusively for themselves, feel offended in their domestic peace and thus bite. The delight for one’s home country has been lost by many, same holds true for the understanding of what home country means. .All the more refreshing Maurmair’s skills of reanimation are. The artist saves stereotypes, long reported sick, so called distinctive marks, from the rhythm of hyperfast selling off and consumption, he transforms them in a playful way and returns them to the indigenous in a rather pure mode. With Pimp mei Heimat Maurmair continues his cross-culture-art in a very consequent way. To enstrange the given he uses resources from his direct environment, his numerous home countries, utilizes a great number of traditional artistic skills and modern techniques. Consequently he offers his work to the interested public for delectation.
