Roland Maurmairs neues Künstlerbuch ist ein Resumé und ein Manifest seiner künstler-
ischen Arbeit. Als Zeichner, Performer und Konstrukteur arbeitet er an der Präzisierung und zugleich Emotionalisierung unseres Natur- und Technikbegriffs. Dabei nimmt er witzig und lautstark, subtil und subversiv Partei für Ausgegrenzte und Unsichtbare, für Nachhaltigkeit, die im Untergrund wirkt, für ein Denken in großen Zeiträumen.
Maurmairs animistische Big Mama Nature ist technikversessen, anarchisch und immer poetisch.

 

Roland Maurmair’s new catalogue is both a summary and manifesto of his artistic work. In his drawings, performances and constructions, Maurmair strives not only to specify but also emotionalise our understanding of nature and technology. He does so by siding, in a funny and vociferous, subtle and subversive manner, with the outcast and invisible, advocating sustainability that acts in the background as well as a way of taking the long view.
Maurmair’s animistic Big Mama Nature is obsessed with technology, anarchic and always poetic.
