„Die Geburt des Berges aus der Maschine“ – dies zu veranschaulichen ist Ziel einer von Roland Maurmair konstruierten Maschine. Die aus dem Wechselspiel Natur–Kultur, Mensch–Natur erwachsenden Phänomene und deren Abfallprodukte (Sessellifte, Seilbahnen, Altöle etc.) werden gewissermaßen als „Urstoff“, aus dem eine neue BergWelt entsteht, genutzt. Die Maschine wird mit zerkleinerten und pulverisierten Teilen von Seil- und Bergbahnen – zum Beispiel mit einem ausgedienten Zugseil der Stubaier Gletscherbahn –, gefüttert. Dieses Material wird ebenso wie Altöle der Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahn als Mittel zur Herstellung großformatiger Graphiken herangezogen.
„The mountain’s birth from the machine“ – a process that is visualized by a machine constructed by Roland Maurmair. The phenomena resulting from the interaction between nature and culture, mankind and nature, and the waste produced in this context (chair lifts, cable cars, waste oil, etc.) are used as the “source material” from which a new mountain world is created. The machine is fed with shredded and pulverized parts of cable cars and mountain railways – with an old disused hauling rope of the Stubai Glacier Railways. The material obtained in this way as well as waste oil of the Innsbruck Nordkette Railway are used to produce large-format graphics.
