Baugebiete sind Orte der Veränderung und Entwicklung. In der gleichnamigen Ausstellung zeigt Roland Maurmair aktuelle Zeichnungen, sowie Holz- und Linolschnitte, in denen sich unsere Umwelt als stetig wandelnde Baustelle präsentiert. Zu sehen sind ökologische An- und Abbaugebiete, ebenso wie Einblicke in den urbanen Lebensraum: wir sind umgeben von Asphalt- und Betonfeldern, die von Antennenwäldern überwuchert sind. Betrachtet man Maurmair’s Holzschnitte, so bekommt der Begriff „Nutzwald“ eine völlig neue Bedeutung.

Areas of building are places of change and development. An exhibition of the same name shows Roland Maurmair’s most recent drawings as well as woodcuts and lino-cuts presenting our environment as continously changing building site. Shown are ecological areas of cultivation and harvest as well as glances at the urban environment: we are surrounded by fields of asphalt and concrete overgrown by woods of aerials. Seeing Maurmair’s woodcuts the term commercial timberland receives a completely new meaning.
