Traum

Vom 19. bis 22. Juli waren interessierte Weißkirchner*innen eingeladen mit den Künstlern gemeinsam ein Schiff zu bauen. Die Aktion ist getragen von der Vision eines selbst gebauten Schiffes im Wasser, eine Metapher für Hoffnungen, Wünsche und lebensbejahende Erkenntnisse. Solche zu formulieren und als Botschaften zu hinterlegen sind die Besucher*Innen des Schiffsbaus herzlich eingeladen.
In der Mythologie ist das Schiff u. a. Vehikel zur Überbrückung des Zwischenraums zwischen Leben und Tod. Das Schiff ist aber auch ein Sinnbild für Sehnsucht und Hoffnung, in den letzten Jahren auch für gescheiterte Hoffnungen gestrandeter Flüchtlinge.

Das Schiff, das Reinhard Jordan und Roland Maurmair im ersten Teil der Kunstaktion gemeinsam mit großen und kleinen Besucher*Innen gebaut haben, ist nun Projektionsfläche für eine von Roland Maurmair konzipierte Medieninstallation in der Alten Leichenhalle.

Nach dem gemeinschaftlichen Schiffsbau und der Integration des Schiffes in eine Videoinstallation in der Alten Leichenhalle, tritt nun im dritten Teil des Kunstprojekts das Schiff seine Wasserprobe an: Das Schiff wird an die Traun verfrachtet und dort zu Wasser gelassen. Reinhard Jordan und Roland Maurmair sind die Mannschaft an Bord des selbst gebauten Hoffnungsträgers und nehmen Kurs auf das jenseitige Ufer…

From July 19 to 22, the people of Weißkirchen were called upon to build a ship together with the artists. The project was carried by the vision of a self-built ship on the water, a metaphor for hopes, wishes and life-affirming insights. To formulate the latter and to deposit them as messages is what the visitors to the shipbuilding were cordially invited to do.
In mythology, the ship, among other things, is a vehicle for traversing the space between life and death. The ship is also a symbol, though, for longing and hope, in recent years also for the frustrated hopes of stranded refugees.

The ship, built by Reinhard Jordan and Roland Maurmair, together with big and little visitors during the first part of the art project, now is the projection surface for a media installation at the old morgue, conceived by Roland Maurmair.

After the communal shipbuilding and the ship’s integration in a video installation at the old morgue, the ship now, in the third part of the art project, is put to the test. For this purpose, it is transported to the Traun river and there launched. Reinhard Jordan and Roland Maurmair are the crew on board the self-built bearer of hope and set course for the opposite bank …
