30 nationale und internationale KünstlerInnen, 30 Galerien, 30 Project Spaces, sechs unabhängige KuratorInnen. Zum dritten Mal zeigt PARALLEL VIENNA 2015 divergente Positionen junger, wie etablierter zeitgenössischer Kunst.
Zwischen 23. und 27.9. bietet die Präsentationsplattform unter dem Titel ANOTHER DESTINATION einen Einblick in unterschiedliche Szenen, Communities und Schauplätze der Stadt Wien. Die urbanen Kräfte zeitgenössischer Kunstproduktion werden gebündelt und Initiativen aller Art (Kunstvereine, Galerien, Project Spaces etc.) unter einem Dach versammelt.
Eine ausgewählte leerstehende Immobilie in der Innenstadt bietet PARALLEL VIENNA jedes Jahr ein neues Zuhause. Heuer dient die Alte Post im ersten Bezirk als Knotenpunkt, Zone des Experiments, sowie Treffpunkt für subkulturelle Anliegen und qualitätsgeprüfte Kunstangelegenheiten. Die weitläufigen Räumlichkeiten liefern einzigartige Rahmenbedingungen für aktives Vernetzen und innovatives Ausstellen, Tauschen und Verkaufen – unmittelbar und cutting edge.
Comprising of around 30 national and international individual artists, 30 galleries, 30 project spaces and six independent curators, in its third year PARALLEL VIENNA 2015 will show divergent positions of young as well as established contemporary art.
Between 23.9 and 27.9, the festival provides a platform, under the title ANOTHER DESTINATION, to offer insight into the different scenes, communities and locations of the city of Vienna. The urban forces of contemporary art production, combined with initiatives of all kinds (art associations, galleries, project spaces, etc.) are gathered under one roof.
Every year PARALLEL VIENNA takes up residence in a different vacant property in the city centre. This year it’s the old post office (Alte Post) in the first district that will serve as a hub zone of the experiment, as well as a meeting point for subcultural issues and quality art matters. The spacious rooms provide unique conditions for active networking and innovative exhibits, exchanges and markets, which are direct and cutting edge.
